NOCN Level 2 Award for Forest School Assistants
The Level 2 Forest School Assistant course looks to promote learning and mental health in the outdoor environment. This course allows participants to become connected with nature through the exploration of woodland areas and Forests. Here participants develop a deeper understanding and make connections with the natural environment and how to care for it through regular outdoor experiences over time and seasonal changes.
The course looks to address agenda’s and legislation that impact climate change and future prospects. Looking at how educators can holistically develop individuals and inform them with regards to Forest School Practices, barriers and opportunities to its sustainability. The minimum age for this qualification is 18 years. This is a Forest School Association and Department for Education requirement. Additionally, learners must be able to support a Forest School Leader who is delivering a Forest School Programme. Learners may typically be school and college staff, youth workers, parent helpers and students.
